Nice... now if it only had the ability to convert mul files to the damned uop format I'd be in heaven... If somebody's got such a utility PM me plz.

You cannot just convert them because both use a very different format for the graphics and models and everything.
But it is possible to customize a KR client somehow (probably user interface only, but maybe even more). Look on the stratics forums for more info in this.

Hmm... are you sure? I'm asking because my homeshard uses a custom map and I wanted to try out the new client.

You have to see the difference between MUL files what really contain graphic data (gumpart.mul, art.mul, anim.mul, textures.mul), and MUL files what are just referring to these, having only pointers into these artwork files (map*.mul, statics*.mul, multi.mul)

The latter ones can be converted/used by KR - IF no changes were made to the "artwork mules". Because obviously KR has no models of your custom artwork. And it cannot be converted by a program, because a 3D model needs lot more of data than the 2D files can give.

I can forget the custom artwork, but I'd really need to be able to use my custom map (which is a lot bigger than the standard OSI map).

And that's why I asked if anybody knew of a way to convert these things. Well... if there's no possibility of doing that at this time I guess I'll be happy with my 2d client (which I personally enjoy much more).

Thanks for all your replies

Well, it's still for our homeshard, we will move on as soon as we get filenames from UOP... (or at least decode hash algorhytm)
